I've found a <a href="http://images.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://lh6.ggpht.com/_ddInoMKdBCk/SKhWAY_8kgI/AAAAAAAAKcU/XEFu1GDYK8g/IMG_6649.JPG&imgrefurl=http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/fISH5p9w9hDtvXpvcdNV7A&usg=__YBs52Bb3MPN1NMu4VecCrGatPgw=&h=1600&w=1200&sz=18&hl=nl&start=49&tbnid=sa2aRBCGqpuQ5M:&tbnh=150&tbnw=113&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddrottningholm%2Blion%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D18%26hl%3Dnl%26sa%3DN%26start%3D36" rel="nofollow">picture</a> (by Seki) on Picasa which clearly shows there are two lions at Drottningholm. They are not facing each other but looking out over the garden from both corners at the back of the theatre.

Judging by their tails (they both turn to the right side of the lion's body) only one model was used here.
